Nothing Like Summer in the City

So its finally summer here in New Zealand. If your from New Zealand you know that normally summer doesn't actually hit here until February when everyone goes back to school but this year we actually got summer while everyone is on holiday.

This was the first year I was actually looking forward to summer: the clothes, the sun, the fun and whatever else comes with summer.

So I thought I'd take a trip to my local park the other day and have a play with my new camera while shooting a few fun photos of some of my fav summer outfits that I thought some of you might like.

So sit back relax and enjoy (especially is your not in the Southern Hemisphere and are experiencing the cold, you can live vicariously through this pictures)

This first outfit is one my fave summer dresses, its fun and floral, while also modelled on the 50's with its longer fuller skirt and a slight sweetheart neckline which is very flattering for those with a fuller bust like me. I paired it with a ballerina bun, aviators, a rose gold necklace and jandals for a flirty girly look.  Perfect for a summer picnic or just a day of summer fun.

This second outfit has a bit more of a relaxed feel, great for a quick shopping trip, a road trip with the girls and a concert in the park. I paired my black and white fringe kimono with a simple slouchy grey t-shirt and ripped light washed high waist denim shorts. Topped off with my rose gold slip ons a long turquoise coin necklace, layered silver rings my black cat eye sunglasses and natural hair. I love kimonos for summer, they are light and floaty, perfect for when you need something light to wear in the evening.

This next outfit is for those days where its still sunny but its a little on the windy side. I have recently loved pairing my high waisted blue jeans with a cute pair of sneakers and these silver and pink ones are my favs. This outfit is great when your running errands, out for lunch with friends. Its a super easy outfit to throw together and looks like you've spent time curating your look. I also threw on a few gold bangles, a fishtail braid and some black ray-ban styled sunglasses to complete this look.

This last outfit is by far my favourite. I recently purchased this playsuit and love the colours in it so much,  they screamed summer to me. I'm obsessed with playsuits at the moment, I have purchased way too many in the last few weeks but they are so effortless for summer. You can throw it on and go, but look totally put together. I mean they can be dressed up or down for any occasion. I've put this one together with some loose curls, a long silver leaf necklace, some delicate silver rings and my rose gold jandals, making it a bit more on a casual side. This outfit just makes me smile and is the epitome of summer to me.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post as much as I enjoyed making it. I hope to do many more like it. (P.S thanks to Lin-Manuel Miranda for the title which is a lyric from Hamilton the Musical)

So girls who are experiencing summer right now, what is your favourite summer trend?
and girls who are wading out the winter, what are you most looking forward to when the summer season hits?
