Wow, I cannot believe that Christmas has come and gone. The hustle and bustle, food and presents are over for another year. I love this season, full of such love, joy, and excitement. I love researching present ideas for friends and family, find a theme to my wrapping paper, planning out my Christmas lunch menu and decorating my house.
This year instead of rushing around the shops of Boxing Day, I took a chill day and spent it binge watching movies and Youtube videos. Particularly a lot of 'What I Got For Christmas' videos. I love these videos, not only cause they are fun to watch but also cause I'm super nosey and it's interesting to see how the other half lives.
So this year I thought I would do a blog post around the same thing, so aside from vouchers and money I received, here is what I got.
Now this is not be bragging in any way, shape or form, I just thought that you followers might be as nosey as I am. This is also a way of showing my appreciation to everyone who gave
So let's get started!
Let's start with my stocking (well really it's a bag but that counts). We do a kind of Secret Santa stocking in my family (though everyone knows exactly who everyone has). Normally I receive a lot of practical gifts in my stocking and a few fun things as well.
This year I received a couple of shower caps (that I had hinted about), cotton pads, face wash, lip balm, bug spray, a little pink pouch and something called a honey wrap (which my Mum tells me is a reusable food wrap).
The more fun things in my stocking this year were a Lush Yoga Bomb and Mr. Sandman Dusting Powder, a Bianco Bathset and Private Practice Season's 3 & 5.
From my Mum this year, I was given Calvin Klein CK Shock For Her, a Living & Co three barrel copper curling wand and a large Kikki K Planner in Sage. I am so excited about all three of these presents, especially the Kikki K as it took me so long to figure out exactly what sort of planner I wanted, I cannot wait for the new year to use it. Thanks, Mum!
This year my Nana got me two sets of DVD's that I am really excited about. She knows how much I love classic films and Old Hollywood, so she got me two box sets; one of classic 1950's musicals and the other is the Hollywood Collection that features biographies and retrospectives on some of my favourite classic Hollywood actors and actresses. I'm looking forward to watching all of them. Thanks, Nana!
From my brother, I got a super useful present (that I picked out). Every year my brother and I do the same thing where we go shopping each other and just pick out what we want the other one to give us. It's super easy that way and makes sure we get exactly what we want. So this year I knew I wanted a backpack for America next year. One that was super sturdy, would fit a lot and go with everything. I chose a Typo Harvard Backpack in Black Leather. I love it, it's super spacious and stylish. Thanks, Shaun!
My Dad this year got my something super cool and that I desperately needed. I managed to break my iPhone 5s this year, I'm not entirely sure how. It just started bending and the whole screen started pulling up and have static on it all the time. So I asked for a new one, not expecting to get one, yet alone a 6. I actually got this a week before Christmas but it still counts right? Thanks Dad.
Lastly, though I haven't done Christmas with most of my friends yet as they are away with their families. One of my best friend's James gave me my present a few ago when we saw each other and told me I wasn't allowed to open it to Christmas. Surprisingly I stuck to this and man alive did I get a surprise when I opened it. The normal person this just looks like a plain US $10 note. Which in itself is cool as it has Alexander Hamilton and if you didn't know already I am really obsessed with the musical Hamilton, which James is as well. But it wasn't until Mum pointed out that there was writing on it, that I realised that the date on it was when James, my other best friend Kat (who also loves Hamilton) and I are all in New York together, I then realised that it also had what appeared to be seat numbers written on it, and this is when I realised what James had done. He went a purchased us Hamilton tickets for when we are in New York as my Christmas present. It's so unbelievable that he has done this and I am so epically grateful. We have talked multiple times about not being able to see the show when where there are James made that dream come for all three of us. So thank you James, best present and surprise ever!
I am so incredibly grateful for all the gift I received this year as well as being able to see the reaction surrounding the gifts I gave others. It truly brings me joy and happiness, buying for others. Thank you to all the people who have given my gifts and cards this year.
I hope that all of you reading has an amazing Christmas with lots of love and happiness
Thanks for reading
